This particular Mercury retrograde takes place in the sign of Scorpio. Scorpio is a fixed, water sign and, as most people know, very intense. Mercury likes to ponder life’s deepest mysteries in this sign. It’s a time that lends itself to research of a scientific as well as mystical nature. In a retrograde period this tendency is intensified.
The danger of Mercury in this sign is judgment. We feel things intensely but that doesn’t mean we should act on those feelings. Half the time they are generated by memories and reactions from the past. Until we sort that out we should be still and bear witness to our feelings.
Here are some dates to watch for when Mercury will connect with other planets.
Conjunct Saturn: October 29th: A time for serious consideration and responsibility for what you know.
Sextile Mars and conjunct the Sun: November 1st: A profound healing moment if you can tune into it. You may not see results on this day but the essential issues will transform with the right witness to foster change.
Sextile Venus : November 8th: Be mindful and mature about how you deal with your resources.
Trine Neptune: November 9th: Psychic. Deep attunement. This aspect lasts through November 11th. In fact Mercury goes direct on the 10th during the trine.

I saw recently in another blog on MR that it is not recommended that one schedule medical appointments during MR. Is that true?
it’s not the greatest. but sometimes it just happens that way. i wouldn’t try to do it. but, in fact, it just so happens that my yearly check up is with mercury retro this year. i will go but/and if anything is bothering me or if they come up with anything i will definitely get a second opinion. Mercury retro is about going with the flow. I would not have an operation while it’s retrograde unless of course time was of the essence. It might also depend on what house it is in.
