Out of all the things not to do during a Mercury retrograde period, some decisions, actions or events are inevitable. Life goes on and we must deal with the cards we given. A little Mercury retrograde awareness will serve you well as you do your best.

1. SELECTING A WEDDING DATE – If at all possible, find a date before or after the retrograde period. Period.

However, a natal chart done for you and your beloved to find out exactly how this particular Mercury retrograde will influence your big day if you happen to choose one during that period could make a Mercury retrograde wedding date redeemable. Perhaps one or both of you were born during MRx. A wedding date in that period may feel most aligned for you. Perhaps the circumstances that have brought you together, need some resolution that a MRx energy can bring.

I often wonder if people who marry, divorce and then remarry each other again are cleaning up unfinished business somehow related to when they first married.

If your courtship has lingered well past the 3 year mark, a Mercury retrograde wedding date may be consider taking care of unfinished business.
2. LAUNCHING A NEW BUSINESS OR BUSINESS INITIATIVE. Still not recommended, but I realize between lawyers, investors and other players you may not be able to avoid it. In these cases, spend extra time and the money needed to review contracts in depth. It is always good to have a second pair of eyes look at all the legaleze. If related meetings or signing etc are delayed, be relaxed and flexible about it, and consider the delay a sign for you to investigate something further.

An aquaintance once rushed to a new opportunity for her business during MRx only to find hidden fees. While the product was fantastic it was too late to re-price it and her time was not adequately compensated.

3. BUYING A HOUSE – your real estate agent knows exactly what you are looking for and she calls you with the most perfect house fresh on the market the day Mercury is retrograde. Tempting isn’t it? Be aware that if purchased, the house may not be everything that it seems to be. Bring yourself back to reality by watching the movie “The Money Pit”, then have a friend who does not appreciate your fine taste examine the property with you and ask the hard questions.

Make up a good rationalization why you have to purchase this property now and see if it stands the test of all the Mercury retrograde no no’s. Be sure to have a home inspection. Ask a lot of questions. If something doesn’t feel right follow your intuition.

In all cases, Mercury is good for delays so take advantage of this and stretch the decision making or launching period to when Mercury is direct. Everyone will benefit from the additional time to reflect. If the ‘deal’ falls apart as a result it very likely did not have the energy you expected in the first place. Consider yourself saved.

This year with Mercury being retrograde in an abundance of earth signs, make sure that these big decisions are grounded, and have stability. Energetically you could benefit by having your natal chart updated. Get repatterned to clear your resonance with the limitations indicated in your chart and strengthen your energy for all the advantages.
