    There is a nest of bright, shiny ideas quite within reach. Truly our experience of the world emanates from how we think about it: How we conceptualize it. Let there be light on all good ideas, knowing full well that although an idea or an ideal can be a perfect model it is not the same once it is manifest. We cannot live in the blueprint. We must build the house.

Sun and Mercury enter Aquarius

The entrance of Sun and Mercury in Aquarius encourages us to understand where we fall on the spectrum of knowledge. We all have an idea that guides our life. How do we live into it? We may also be inspired to consider what might really be required to know something worth knowing.  (Did you know that the root of the word ‘consider’ is about being with (con) the stars (sider)? A disaster, on the other hand, is to be against (dis) the stars (aster).)

Mercury enters Capricorn and sextiles Neptune

It’s as if Mercury is waving good bye at the end of the Famous Year, 2012; a year of great transition; the alpha and omega of years. In Capricorn, an earth sign, Mercury is about practical things. There are so many opportunities and inventions still to come; songs to be written and sung, people to be healed. A good way to bring in the New Year might be to make a list of possibilities: Personal and collective. The sextile to Neptune suggests we might benefit from a bit of dreaming as well as planning. Then we need to sit with it for a while. Many things are possible but nothing is guaranteed.

Mercury opposite Jupiter

This tension between Mercury and Jupiter is seen in that Mercury is the ruler of Gemini and that is where Jupiter is. Jupiter is the ruler of Sagittarius and that is where Mercury is at the moment.

Is there a way to stay alive in the informational ocean we swim in without trivializing the mere fact of existence? Or possibly I’m on the wrong track and existence is truly trivial.
