Chaos, Change and Revolution

According to astrologer (and colleague) Julie Simmons, in her pst about the upcoming August 2 2011 Mercury retrograde, this present position of the retrograde ‘brings out a theme that has been strong since the eclipse of the last winter solstice – the end of the end and not quite the beginning of the beginning. Chaos, change and revolution.’

I have been noticing examples of the pattern everywhere lately ..

– political parties like the Canadian federal Liberals or the USA Republicans (I know – in the same sentence) are kinda over as we have know them.  Their best days seem to be gone and fresh new ideas of governance relevant to the people have not quite arrived.   I am reminded of the recent New York Times columnist David Brooks (the Mother of All No Brainers) writing about his own disappointment in the Republicans calling the party no longer normal.  Here are some other examples:

– the World News publication is over, really over but saying sorry and exposing the truth has not launched a hoped for rebirth.

– on a different scale, in my apartment block ignoring a crumbling balcony situation has given way to a last minute spring time decision made during the last Mercury retrograde to have them repaired on two large buildings. The construction disrupting many households including mine, won’t be over until October. The result will be safety.

– Our city of Toronto is gutting long held ‘have to have’ decisions such as the Jarvis street bike lane (gone next year) 50,000 city jobs gone, privatization of many services, planned graffiti programs  eliminated… has the revolution gone too far?  We are likely not arrived at the true new beginning enough to know.

For this August 2, examine the chaos, change and revolution in your life.  What do you resonate with and what ‘entrenched thought patterns’ do you need to let go of? What plans will you make to manage the your own inner revolution?

Do You Resonate With Mercury Retrograde – Huh?

The Simon & Schuster Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs...

Image via Wikipedia

It’s nearly here again.  In the days leading up to when Mercury is retrograde August 2, 2011 what aspects of this influence do you resonate with – the potential tragedy of it all or the potential?  Through the lens of energy healing, we are all vibrating fields of energy and the laws of physics apply.  What we resonate with is what we experience in our reality. To avoid the worst of Mercury retrograde being mindful of your thoughts and keeping them proactive, patient and positive will pay off.

Take a moment right now and reflect on what your thoughts and reactions are about Mercury Retrograde? Are you anxious or fearing that something bad will happen? Are you feeling the planetary winds slowing things down, but  pushing ahead with an over-extended work schedule just the same? Or are you one of those going with the flow, taking time out for reflection, or re-alignment?

Being aligned with Mercury retrograde is like getting ready for another season pulling out summer clothes and putting away the winter ones.  The Mercury retrograde ‘season’ is not as visible as the climatic ones,  it affects, however  can trigger many things in our psyche that need changing, resolving or repairing.  If we are not up for the transformation we can accumulate feelings of being victimized and anticipate the next retrograde with resentment, anxiety and other typical Mercury retrograde fears.

However, if we embrace the energy that it is, we align with natures gift to put things in order,  restore our batteries and recharge.  We recycle to start the next phase with more energy, clarity, focus and drive to achieve our potential.

Pay attention to the “flavor” of the Mercury Retrograde period as it changes depending on what part of the year it is in.  Julie Simmons writes about these in a post for each retrograde ( See the one for Aug 2)

What are you resonating with for the Mercury retrograde period?

By the way, the Aligned for Mercury retrograde program offered by Julie and I provides an energy boost of coherence that organically helps you align with these astrological influences. If you are one of those who always experiences the worst of this energy, you may find this online program helpful.  Who knows? You too may be singing Mercury retrograde’s praises.

Working the shadow: continued

I am amazed at my own post! I posted the audio clip about my un-findable sheet of paper. Then, just as I said, I went to my subscription page and put in the issue and the intention (to find it with ease). Then I had lunch and cleaned up the kitchen and generally took a break.

Refreshed, I sat back down at my desk and not only did I find the missing piece of information but I also found that the file I thought I had to create from scratch is mostly finished! On one hand the morning’s work was pointless effort but on the other hand, well on the other hand Mercury is up to its tricks!!!
