September 24th Mercury goes Retrograde – “This mercury retrograde is in Libra. As it goes retrograde it conjuncts Mars and trines Neptune. Many people think of Libra as a sign of balance, like the scales that represent it. But those scales are not as easily balanced as they appear. To find balance one must weigh and measure. To create equilibrium often requires challenge and negotiation. Mars is the planet of strife. Mars tends to energize as well as separate. Neptune is the planet of transcendent longing. Neptune reaches for ultimate beauty and idealism. Imagine we have a cauldron. In it we will put Mars and Mercury in Libra as well as Neptune in Aquarius. Then we will stir it backwards. We may find ourselves longing for peace even as we go to war to have it. We may find ourselves aspiring to all that is beautiful and true in the human spirit even as we disturb that beauty by absolutely misunderstanding what it was trying to express. Alignment will remind us to move with grace through the mined field of our delusions and to listen to the other guy without anticipating what they will say.
