When is Mercury Retrograde Next?

“I need to plan ahead. When exactly is Mercury Retrograde next?”

The clever kids at the blog software company -Wordpress.com flicked this quote on my dashboard the other day and it made me smile.  It’s the kinda thing you’d say to a struggling writer during Mercury retrograde.

“There are three rules for writing a novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.” W. Somerset Maugham

We are now well out of the shadow of the last Mercury retrograde and life is back to our old normal, hopefully with a new twist.   The next Mercury retrograde occurs on July 14th and lingers until August 8th.  If  you are concerned about traveling during a Mercury retrograde, signing a contract, buying  something new like a car etc, start planning now.   Schedule home repairs, cleaning, decluttering, and projects to be finished (but not launched) for the next go-round.

What are your best Mercury retrograde strategies?

In Between Mercury Retrograde…A Quilt is Finished.

My True Love Gave to Me…Coincidentally, Mercury retrograde ended and my 12 Days of Christmas Quilt came back from the quilter, ready for buttons and final flourishes!    I am so happy!  It is a project I undertook with my friend and colleague Kathie Joblin.  We both made a quilt and I totally benefited from her excellent sewing expertise and enthusiastic encouragement. How long did it take? In total, a 5 day retreat at a cottage for 2 consecutive summers, plus 2 or 3 full weekends and probably a few more days here and there but who is counting?

The pattern and fabric was designed by an amazing quilt person from Colorado – Nancy Havlerson.  The way she put the fabric design together with each piece in the quilt is inspired and you could feel that with each piece as it was added to make the whole picture. I am sharing this here for all of you who endured my bragging and droning on about this project for the last 2 years!   These are the pictures of the finished quilt before the binding and buttons arrived.  More pictures when I enroll my friend Jane of Jane Walkers Cards  in taking a good picture or two in a bigger space. Thanks for your encouragement and warm words!

Mercury is Direct!

Well the sun is shining here in Toronto and with a gently cool breeze it feels like spring has arrived.   To this delightful mix of nature we can add the feeling of freedom from within that says “YES” to moving forward.  Mercury is indeed direct.

Hope your alignment with this past retrograde has helped you build a new high energy state for the next cycle of the new beginnings of spring.  Mercury is completely out of it’s shadow on April 23rd.

When does it go retrograde again?  Mercury goes retrograde next on July 14th-August 8th 2012 – so plan ahead.

Did AMR Work for You? – To all participants of this Aligned for Mercury Retrograde – we’d love to have your feedback.  How did the repatterning session work for you?  Please leave your comments below.

Blessings,

Carolyn Winter and Julie Simmons

Aligning Outcomes

How are you making out so far with this Mercury retrograde?   For myself, the frazzled feelings of the retrograde (crossing fingers, touching wood) have moved on and I feeling rather productive.   In the past week I have been  finishing off old projects and fixing things that have been on my list for ever.  The shower curtain rod cover and liner got changed,  I scoured my space and took a box of ‘stuff’ no longer needed or in use to the recycling center of our building but the most satisfying project so far is the lamp project.

I found this wrought iron lamp in the trash area of our building.. well a place that folks leave good stuff for others to take home – over 10 years ago.   It was missing the hardware for the lamp socket, the shade and the plug /cord looked like it was from the 20’s.   I had hopes of refinishing and re-wiring it, but it sat in my bedroom forever serving as a clothes-rack more than anything else.   During this Mercury retrograde I was finally inspired to think… “Well what could it possibly take to re-wire a lamp?” and set out for the Home Depot to find out.  It actually took the MRx standard 4 trips to the store to figure it out but finally I got the right pieces and with the help of one good friend with the proper tool (I needed a wire stripper) it was effortlessly accomplished in 20 minutes.

What is really great about this accomplishment is that the hardwiring of a lamp is no longer a mystery to me.  In the future, I think I can fearlessly tackle a lamp repair job without waiting 10 years!

PS – however the trickster has the last word as in uploading pictures of my lamp deal… the one with the finished project is not to be found!   Hope to get it up later today.
